SSP-04
Product Overview
The SSP-04 is specifically designed to measure the stick-slip effect of a material pairing, with the aid of an acceleration sensor, under application-typical conditions of use. In addition, the classic friction parameters are determined.
Tribo-Acoustics deals with noise phenomena caused by a critical combination of materials. These are often perceived as unpleasant and reduce the subjective quality of a product. In addition, stick-slip can lead to increased abrasion, wear and malfunction.
The risk priority number [RPZ] determined from the measurement results is a reliable indicator of whether the creaking or squeaking noises resulting from the material combination are critical. This is helpful for planning and taking appropriate countermeasures in good time. Ideally, before this combination of materials finds its way into serial production.
Stick-slip measurements are already well known in the automotive industry and are listed in various test specifications. The SSP-04 complies with the measurements of the VDA-230-206 as well as the test specifications of well-known OEMs, such as: BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, Fiat, Jaguar Land Rover and many other manufacturers.
