Product Overview

SLICE is a modular data acquisition system manufactured by DTS (Diversified Technical Systems). The Ultra-Small SLICE miniature Data Recorders feature unmatched flexibility, technology and reliability.

Miniature, modular, rugged SLICE  NANO data acquisition systems are ideal for embedded test applications. SLICE NANO supports a variety of external sensors, includes full signal conditioning and writes data directly to flash memory.

SLICE NANO

SLICE is available in two form factors, SLICE MICRO & SLICE NANO. Both models are ideal for a variety of critical test & measurement applications and allow for custom configurations. The foundation of the system is the BASE SLICE that contains the microprocessor, memory and all of the control circuits for managing multiple 3-channel SLICEs that can be stacked in different channel count and sensor input configurations. A simple interface provides power, trigger and communication signals for chaining multiple SLICE stacks and connecting to your PC.

    SLICE Distributor

    Supports Ethernet communication, power and control signals between multiple SLICE system chains (supports hundreds of channels). Ideal for in-dummy applications or for applications where Ethernet connectivity is needed.

    SLICE Interface Device

    Support communication, power and control signals between the SLICE system and PC. Ideal for low channel count applications. Available in Ethernet or USB options.

    SLICE NANO USB Interface Kit

    Basic components required to connect the PC and power to the DAS via USB communication.
    Kit includes: SLICE USB Interface, chain cable, USB cable, DB9 connector and power supply. Items also available separately.

    SLICE NANO Stack Extender

    For applications with limited vertical space, the Stack Extender allows SLICE NANO modules to be mounted side-by-side, rather than stacked. Ideal for a variety of applications including the FLEX PLI legform.

    SLICE End-of-Chain (EOC) Terminal

    Supports power input, ON signal, status output, start record input and event input signals (3 A max). Easy-to-use screw terminals. Included in the SLICE NANO Base Cable Kit.

    SLICE NANO Base Cable Kit

    All the basic accessories required to connect and operate a SLICE NANO system. Kit includes: End-of-Chain (EOC) Terminal, start-event switch, USB communication cable and power supply. Items also available separately.

    CABLES, CONNECTORS & ADAPTERS

    Daisy Chain/Interconnect cable

    Base-to-base daisy chain cable connects multiple SLICE NANO stacks of up to 24 channels each. Available in a variety of lengths.

    USB Cable for SLICE NANO

    USB communication cable provides interface between PC and SLICE NANO Systems.

    SLICE Distributor to DDX Cable

    Connects SLICE Distributor to the SLICE Interface Device or a TDAS PLUS Mini Distributor for power, communication, trigger and status.

    1-Channel Sensor Cable Assembly

    Connects SLICE NANO Bridge channel to an external sensor. Pigtail termination.

    1-Channel Sensor Cable Assembly, 1/4 Bridge

    Connects SLICE NANO Bridge channel to a 1/4 bridge strain gage. Pigtail termination.

    Connectors – Omnetics

    Omnetics connectors, backshells and assemblies for making custom cabling for sensor interfacing and connecting to external devices (com, power, daisy-chain, etc.).

    THA Thermocouple Adapter

    Uses a standard miniature thermocouple connector to connect Type K thermocouples to SLICE systems. Two range options: -100 to +400C; 0 to 1250C

    Range Expander

    Adapter with cable that allows DTS DAQ systems to record voltage signals exceeding the standard input range. Available in ±20 V, ±40 V, ±60 V and ±800 V ranges. Various connector options available (LEMO, Omnetics, Tajimi).

    SLICEWare Software

    SLICEWare is an intuitive set-up, control and data viewing software for SLICE NANO, SLICE MICRO, SLICE IP68 and SLICE PRO SIM hardware. Designed to provide fast, easy-to-use tools for data collection, SLICEWare is ideal for both small and large-scale tests. SLICEWare offers advanced features such as automatic sensor assignment, detailed channel diagnostics and real-time data display to support successful data collection every test.

    DataPRO Software

    DataPRO is a powerful set-up, control and data viewing software for DTS hardware. The intuitive user interface is designed to help test engineers create, control and manage every aspect of a test. DataPRO makes it easy to access complete sensor and hardware details, plus share test information via standalone or centralized SQL databases. Key features include integrated off-line test builder, extensive ISO MME database, enhanced diagnostic tools, multiple viewing options and automatic report generation.

    SLICEWare is the Control Software that allows for set-up and provides fast, easy-to-use tools for storing sensor information and performing data collection for analysis later.
